1. No Surprises Act – Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate

Under the No Surprises Act (2022), health care providers are required to give patients who don’t have insurance, or who are not using insurance, an estimate of the expected charges for medical services. You have the right to:

  • Receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including therapy.

  • Request a GFE in writing at least one business day before your scheduled session.

  • Dispute bills that are $400 or more above the GFE.

3. Therapy Service Policies

 Appointments & Cancellations

  • Scheduling: Appointments/Consultations can be scheduled by contacting your therapist directly online or by phone, email or chat.

  • Cancellation Policy: We require at least 24 hours notice for appointment cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur a $75 fee as detailed in our intake docs..

  • Rescheduling: Should you need to reschedule, please contact us promptly. We will do our best to accommodate your needs, subject to availability.

 Payment Policies

  • Accepted Payment Methods: We accept self-pay, credit cards, HSA/FSA and some insurances depending on the provider of choice.

  • Insurance: If insurance is not accepted by your provider of choice, a superbill can be provided upon request for out-of-network reimbursement through your insurance provider (if available).

  • Refunds: Fees for sessions are generally non-refundable. In the case of a billing error or service cancellation by Love & Therapy, a refund or credit will be issued at our discretion.

Confidentiality

  • Client Privacy: At Love & Therapy, client confidentiality is of paramount importance. Information shared during sessions is kept confidential in accordance with professional ethical standards and applicable privacy laws (such as HIPAA, where applicable).

  • Exceptions: Confidentiality may be legally breached if required by law, court order, or imminent risk of harm to you or others.

Record Keeping & Data Use

  • Electronic Records: Some session records and client data may be maintained electronically. These records are stored securely, and access is limited to authorized personnel only.
